Alexander Owen Consultancy Ltd was founded early in 2001 by Richie Owen who has approaching 25 years experience in the leisure industry, over 15 of which have been in the Hotel Spa sector.
Award winning
A highly experienced manager and operator Richie is known for his innovative and pro-active approach and ability to work with people. Throughout the nineties he worked for a highly regarded Country House Hotel Group affiliated to Relais et Chateaux, latterly as Group Spa Manager and was instrumental firstly in developing and secondly expanding the Spa concept throughout the company's portfolio with 2 Spas being voted by readers of Conde Nast Traveller Magazine in the top 10 Best UK Hotel Leisure Spas and one named runner-up!
Richie is a member of the Spa Business Association, Institute for Sport Parks and Leisure and Institute Of Safety and Health . He has also worked with many of the leading suppliers and remains in touch with a fast evolving industry.
Tre-Ysgawen Hall Country House Hotel and Spa
Alexander Owen Consultancy helped design, set up and continue to operate Tre-Ysgawen Spa (opened August 2002) on behalf of Tre-Ysgawen Hall Country House Hotel and Spa Isle of Anglesey, one of only 3 finalists in the Best Hotel Spa Category at the Professional Beauty and Spa Awards 2005 held in London and the first Hotel in Wales to gain Hospitality Assured Accreditation ( May 2007) Tre-Ysgawen is currently a member of both the Welsh Rarebits and Johansens collections
Oriel House Country Hotel
The company also set up the Health and Leisure Club at Oriel House in St. Asaph, Denbighshire - opened in July 2003. AOC Ltd operated the Club on behalf of GAR Hotels Ltd until July 2006.
Civil Service Sports Council
AOC currently provide fitness studio training and consultancy at CSSC sites across the north west including Health and Safety Executive Headquarters Merseyside, UK Hydrographic Office Taunton and HM Revenue and Customs Bradford and Merseyside
